Bike Tours

The french are dedicated cyclists!

On your bikes! Discover Bordeaux, the 4th most bicycle-friendly city in the world, it is said. With more than 200 kilometres of cycle paths, the Bordeaux urban area has become a paradise for cyclists.

Bordeaux has many cycle lanes in the city centre. Don’t hesitate to take advantage of this dynamic and ecologically-friendly way of seeing the city without having to worry about where to park your car... Your bike trip around Bordeaux will be both pleasant and safe thanks to the conspicuous bike-friendly infrastructure of the city.

This 8 km route leaves from Place Gambetta and passes in front of monuments that, taken together, were listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. As you ride down the Cours de l’Intendance, make sure to lift you head to admire the mascarons. These sculpted stone faces found above doors are typical of 18th century architecture. Before long, you will arrive in front of the famous Grand Théâtre. Take the Cours du Chapeau Rouge down to the recently-renovated quays and cycle along the Garonne to the spectacular new Chaban-Delmas lift bridge. After crossing to the other side, the cycle path takes you along the right bank, which is less developed and offers an outstanding view of Place de la Bourse and Old Bordeaux. Now it's time to go back to the other side of the river via the Pont de Pierre commissioned by Napoleon and built from 1810 to 1822. From there, coast down the slight incline to the Porte Cailhau and the Place du Palais. The tour is finished! Did you enjoy it?  Perfect!  This ride is even more beautiful at night when the city is lit up. Want to give it another go?
